To spark curiosity in technology, logic, and problem-solving while fostering future leaders and innovators, CVCS is proud to introduce three exciting, hands-on activity courses this semester, led by accomplished student instructors!

♟️ 课程一：国际象棋 (Chess Club)

🌟 课程简介 | Course Overview

“国际象棋不仅是一门智力运动，更是一种挑战自我、提升思维的方式。” 本课程旨在帮助学生在享受对弈乐趣的同时，系统建立战略（Strategy）、战术（Tactics）与批判性思维（Critical Thinking）。

无论孩子是刚入门的新手，还是希望突破瓶颈提升棋艺的爱好者，课程都将循序渐进地教授开局策略、中盘战术与残局技巧，帮助孩子们培养耐心、专注力以及前瞻性决策能力（Thinking Ahead）。

"Chess is more than a game—it's a way to challenge yourself and become a better thinker." This course aims to help students enjoy the game while building strong foundations in strategy, tactics, and critical thinking.

Whether your child is just starting out or looking to take their game to the next level, the class provides step-by-step guidance in strategy and endgame techniques while fostering patience, focus, and long-term decision-making skills!

💻 课程二：Python 趣味编程 (Coding with Python)

🌟 课程简介 | Course Overview

本课程将带领同学们正式踏入编程的大门！我们将从最基础的计算机概念切入——什么是程序？如何向计算机发出指令？逐步掌握函数（Functions）、数据类型（Data Types）、列表（Lists）、条件判断（Conditionals）、循环（Loops）以及递归（Recursion）等核心概念。在学习过程中，同学们将循序渐进地掌握 Python 语言，了解计算机内存管理与报错调试。课程最后，孩子们将亲手制作出一款可以真正运行的电脑小游戏！本课程专门面向 5 年级及以上 的学生。

特别亮点： 课程将根据学生的兴趣灵活拓展！如果同学们想挑战少儿编程竞赛（如 USACO）、探索人工智能（AI）、学习 C++ 语言，甚至了解编译器底层原理，课程都会进行针对性的加深与定制！

This class introduces students to the world of coding! Starting from the absolute basics—what a program is and how to instruct computers—students will learn core concepts including functions, data types, lists, conditionals, loops, and recursion. Along the way, Python syntax will be introduced step-by-step. Students will also explore computer memory management and debugging techniques. By the end of the course, students will build and run their very own interactive game! Designed specifically for students in 5th grade and above.

Special Feature: The curriculum adaptively follows students' curiosity. Topics can be expanded to include competitive coding, AI, C++, or compiler fundamentals based on student interest.

🔬 课程三：STEM 趣味动手科学课 (Hands-on STEMsters)

🌟 课程简介 | Course Overview

STEMsters 是一家致力于通过趣味、互动和动手实操项目向青少年普及 STEM（科学、技术、工程、数学）知识的非营利组织！本课程专门面向 K–5 年级（小学阶段） 的学生。

在这门课上，孩子们不仅能通过做实验、动手做小制作来体会科学的乐趣，未来的高中生学子还能了解如何成立自己的 STEMsters 分会（Chapter），在向社区推广科学的同时积累有价值的义工服务时长（Volunteer Hours）！

STEMsters is a non-profit organization dedicated to teaching kids about STEM through fun, engaging, and hands-on projects! Designed specifically for K–5 students.

In this program, young learners will explore science through exciting experiments and interactive crafts. Additionally, high school students interested in leadership can learn how to start their own local chapter, earning valuable volunteer hours while empowering younger peers!
